A nominative bank check is a valid mean of payment of severance pay for the worker
The ruling of the Social Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of Extremadura, section 1st, of January 26th, 2021, nº 33/2021, appeal 525/2020, considered that the delivery of the check with the severance pay simultaneously with the objective dismissal letter complied with the legal requirement to make available to the worker, simultaneously with the delivery of the written communication, the severance pay of twenty days per year of service, of article 53.1.b) of the Spanish Workers Statute.
