What is an "Exhorto" in the Spanish Judicial System?

The "Exhorto" is basically an act of cooperation or judicial assistance through which collaboration is sought from another different judicial authority so that the requested person performs a procedural act, which can only be carried out by that authority or Court (for example, issuance of testimonies and documents in the file or secretary of a Judicial body) or that must be carried out in the territory of another (statement of an investigated, witness or expert) because the affected party is in a different judicial party from the one that is leading the case.
