SUBMISSION OF A CLAIM TO THE EUROPEAN COURT OF HUMAN RIGHTS


Who can apply to the ECtHR.


Pursuant to Articles 33 and 34 of the Convention, the Court may be addressed y


(1) natural persons, non-governmental organizations or groups of individuals who claim to be victims of a breach of the Convention or its Protocols, committed by a State party, in the case of individual claims, and


(2) a state party (or more than one) in the case of interstate claims.



How to address the ECHR.


The procedure, which is free, begins with the submission of the claim form, which can be submitted by the claimant himself (or his representative or guardian, or his lawyer), in her or his language, provided it is official in one of the States parties.
