About Public Crimes in Spain
Public crimes are known as all those that are not included as private or semi-public crimes. This typology highlights that they can be prosecuted ex officio or denounced by any person who becomes aware of the criminal acts and facts related.
Nevertheless, for the implementation of the criminal procedure for these sort of crimes, the accusation of an individual is not necessary, as the authorities can initiate the same and propose the penalties or dismiss them, in case there is no alleged crime investigated.
