Public, Semi-public and Private Crimes according to Spanish Criminal Law

Public, semi-public and private crimes are defined in the panishPenal Code. The main reasons for their differentiation are the parties involved and their prosecution.

Knowing the types of crimes is essential to opt for the legal measures and procedures that correspond to each one. In some cases, the appearance of the victim will be necessary, in others, the action of the Public Prosecutor is sufficient.

The three concepts refer to crimes defined in the Spanish Penal Code, but they have their own peculiarities.
