What is "Arraigo Familiar" in Spanish Immigration Law?
The "Arraigo Familiar" (it could be translated into English as Family Roots) is a type of exceptional authorization that is granted to foreigners who are mothers or fathers of a community child, or children of an originally Spanish father or mother.
Essentially, Family Roots is a type of temporary authorization to reside in Spain for certain circumstances, which is only valid for one year, it cannot be renewed, but, at the end, the foreigner can request a residence permit.
It is one of the ways to obtain a temporary residence in Spain, it is granted for exceptional reasons and allows you to work or even set up a company.
The family is one of the three existing types of roots; the other two are labor and social. The permit is issued by the Immigration Office and to obtain it certain requirements must be met.
