What is the "Offering of Actions" in Spanish Criminal Law
At a certain moment in any Criminal Process in a Spanish Court it should take place what is known as the offering of actions, which is basically the possibility that is granted to the victim or injured party in a criminal procedure to be part of the process actively.
It is regulated in the Criminal Procedure Law (which is how it is known the criminal procedural regulations in Spain).
This referred offering of actions is an act that essentially aims to:
Inform the injured or aggrieved by a crime of the existence of an open procedure as a result of it.
Offer her/him the possibility to participate actively in the process, to forgive the aggressor or not to do one thing or the other.
Give the victim a choice between claiming the damages suffered, or waiving their restitution.
